Abbie is our resident “vintage virtuoso!” Graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Advertising from Texas State University, she has a keen eye for the latest trends in event design, color and style and all things vintage. Before diving head-first into the fabulous world of event planning, she worked in media, account services, marketing and communications. She worked as an Advertising Coordinator for a publisher in Houston before getting married and moving home to the Hill Country…and now she cannot even imagine living anywhere else besides Austin! A Jill-of-All-Trades, she comes to our team with a background in a little bit of everything in the communications industry. Cool as a cucumber, Abbie knows the events industry and creates fabulous events!

After tying the knot in April 2011, Abbie discovered her true calling…event planning. She has a special love for DIY projects, proven by laboring over 150 feet of bunting and a seemingly endless list of DIY projects for her own wedding. She believes every wedding and event should be unique…with fabulous one-of-a-kind details and original, unexpected ideas. She has a special knack for thinking outside-the-box and loves to play with colors and design, demonstrated by the inspiration boards she creates for The Simplifiers in a blog feature we call The Design Dish.

Abbie is all about the retro vibe and treasures anything vintage. She covets her stash of vintage heels…which may be a slight obsession. She blames Etsy and the countlessAustin resale shops for supporting her habit.
