Dani Alvarado
Event Planner | Design Maven | Undercover Superhero
Dani was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley, on a healthy diet of rice, beans and quinceaneras. After leaving her Grandma’s home cooking in 2006, she attended Texas State University in San Marcos. During college, she joined the Student Event Planners Association and honed her natural creative and organizational skills through do-it-yourself projects. She spent her time outside of class playing intramural soccer and gained valuable experience at the school newspaper, local non-profits, wedding venues and countless events.
After graduating, Dani knew she wasn’t looking for the typical work environment and was pretty sure Austin would be the place to find just the right mix of quality and quirk. She has always appreciated the symbolism that a wedding holds and loves the idea of creating a unique opportunity for a couple to really celebrate their commitment to each other. Dani takes great pride in the details of every event she participates in, from large scale parties to Thanksgiving dinners.
Though Dani grew up just minutes from the Mexican border, she embraces her mother’s British heritage and is currently developing a taste for hot tea at the Steeping Room. When she’s not there, you’ll probably find her at an Alamo Drafthouse Sing-along, munching at East Side Pies, bouncing around at a concert or serving her church, the Austin Stone. But more than likely, she’s curled up on the couch watching one of her favorite Joss Whedon TV shows.
