Case Study: Aspen Heights

OBJECTIVE

Our client – an innovative developer and builder – wanted to plan an annual company retreat for their fast-growing, mostly millennial staff. Their aim was to finalise their annual strategic goals by department, train their teams on new in-house software and gain company-wide buy-in of their plan for the year ahead.

CHALLENGE

The challenge was not only to bring together their entire company (14 different locations and various departments), but also how to empower a fairly young team and equip them with tools to handle the challenges that come with great success.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Simplifiers developed the “The Shift” theme for their multi-day retreat, with focused workshops including “The Integral Leader”, “Preparing for Excellence in the Year Ahead” and “Becoming Uncommon.”
As their project manager, we managed all the details of producing this large-scale (100 person), multi-day event…from venue scouting to budgets to negotiating vendor contracts, event design and more. By trusting The Simplifiers to get the job done, their in-house staff saved hours of valuable working time.
Our local relationships helped keep costs down; The Simplifiers selected appropriate vendors and cost-effective products to design the event without blowing the budget.
Attention to detail is where we excel, matching the food menus carefully to the training programming delivered. Heavy talks require light, healthy foods that kept their employees well-fed and alert for brainstorming sessions.
We incorporated an equal balance of hands-on training with strategic visioning exercises for their employees. In addition, we provided a one-of-a-kind live event experience including horseback riding, golf, high ropes excursions and craft beer tasting to boost team bonding.
