Let’s talk integrity and determination… are these part of your core values? At The Simplifiers, we believe “integrity + determination = high reward” and would like to take a deep dive into explaining why this is one of our key core values as a business.
Last January, we took a look a few of the core values of The Simplifiers one by one, breaking them down for you in our Friday bonus episodes. This is so you can understand what we believe in and why… and how you can incorporate the practice of core values in to your small business this year.
The next core value I want to shine a spotlight on is this…

Integrity + Determination = High reward
And that simple principle means this… when you’re a business owner, your integrity speaks volumes about you and your brand. Bottomline, do you deliver on your promises every single time, no matter the situation or circumstance? We believe this in every decision The Simplifiers makes. Never miss a deadline, always deliver the very best we can in our products and services.
And when it comes to determination, we are committed to see all projects through to the end. We are determined to find the highest quality solution for our clients while equally refining our work to be the simplest, as well. We’ve learned over the years that our clients depend on us to bring simplicity and clarity into their lives. Therefore, we cannot deliver complex solutions with 80 billion steps and a complicated plan to follow. Keep it simple, always.
So when you mix our high level of integrity (wanting to deliver the very best) with our unending determination (keep going, keep learning, keep refining), we know this will result in high reward.
Not only for our team but also for our clients and podcast listeners. So how do you begin to cultivate a company culture of high integrity and steadfast determination?
Here are 3 simple steps to embrace integrity & determination, as a core value:
Be honest –
Be honest with your clients by taking ownership when you’ve flubbed something up and always offering next step solutions on how you’re going to fix it… no matter how much it stings (at first)
Set attainable deadlines –
Make sure you set deadlines that you know you and your team can hit… never be late for meetings and always take other people’s time seriously. You’ll be known in your local industry how trustworthy your word is and how dependable (and easy) you are to work with!
Treat it like a science experiment –
Consider every project like a science experiment – what are you learning along the way? What could you refine next time? How will you avoid making the same mistakes twice? Always stay determined to simplify and make it better.
When you lead your team to value high integrity and unstoppable determination in their work, they will begin to take deeper ownership in what they do. They are looking at you to model this behavior first. Show them how it’s done, in order to bake it into your company culture this year.

One final whisper
The best part of being a business owner is you get to create a work environment that you love to be in.
You set the tone, you mentor your team to carry the vision, mission and core values in every thing you deliver.
Your name is on the dotted line and you know how important this is to give your clients a world-class experience.
So in order to be a business owner with high integrity and undying determination, you must:
- be honest and own up when things didn’t go as planned
- set realistic deadlines so you can over-deliver on your promises and WOW your clients
- continue to refine and simplify your systems and processes like a scientist
Your team is watching you. So are your clients, too. If this core value resonates with you, discuss it with the team and see if this could be incorporated into your core values in the year ahead.
You can do this, I believe in you.
