Do you think (in this day and age) it’s possible to market your business without social media? If you had asked me two years ago, I would have vehemently said, “Heck NO! Social media is the lifeblood to stay connected, and your business would DIE without it!”
But nowadays, I’m starting to question if that fundamental belief is actually true… or not.
My special guest today is an international best-selling author who’s defying it all. She’s running a multi-million dollar business and only working 10 hours a week. During these 10 hours, Leonie is not wasting a ton of time on social media.

Thanks SO much for this episode, Mary and Leonie! I’ve been thinking about drastically reducing my sm for well over a year now. I also took a SM break last year to write my book and now I’m a published author!!! I didn’t notice any difference in my stats, nor was anyone upset. I also get more REAL connections with my email subscribers and I’ve been advising my own clients as an ethical marketing strategist to not worry about their dip in likes or the imposter syndrome or posting like a mad(wo)man. I wrote an email the other week with the subject line: ‘Is social media driving you nuts?’ adding important stats about email vs. smm and about mindset. I literally have to set the intention to research what I have to research on FB or IG and then get out ’cause if I don’t, I get sucked into the void too. ALL of this makes sense and now, after hearing this episode, fully ready to say, ‘OK, that’s all folks.’ I’ll be here for you in my FB groups and I will post when I feel the urge and will comment back if you’re respectful, but during my planned times (1x per week)… That sounds good to me! Thank you for this permission!
I’m so glad this episode sparked a few new ideas for you, Jessica!! Thanks for the feedback, as well.
