The Rattle Inn
Nestled into a corner of the West 6th Street district is a great Texas-style venue- The Rattle Inn. You might recognize it for the antlers and Christmas lights lining the stairs and soon you’ll know it for the newly installed Topo Chico mural on the side of the building. It’s the perfect place for enjoying one of their signature drinks or listening to local live music, and The Rattle Inn is host to many different kinds of events as well.
The Rattle Inn is a 3,600 square foot venue broken down into four different areas. Each of the spaces has it’s own character and feel but they all uniquely embody the distinct characteristics of Austin, Texas. Downstairs Ray’s Backstage has an open floor plan and nods to the notable musicians who got started in the music Capitol are everywhere you look. This room has a great stage for live performances and shows, and it’s fully equipped with prime audio-visual equipment. An on-site sound engineer is even available to assist so you can spend time focusing on other tasks for the event or mingling with guests.
Just a step to the right is the authentically western Rattle Inn bar and lounge area. This space currently houses a pool table, a juke box, a large natural wood bar but, plans to update it to a chic tasting lounge and cigar bar are underway so make sure to stay tuned. Just outside there’s a great patio where you can put your feet up next to a cactus and enjoy a cold brew on a hot central Texas night.
Upstairs you’ll find a third bar and a spacious outdoor deck that just happens to have some astounding views of the downtown Austin skyline. The deck also has a photo booth available year round. Add some props and it’s a built in, ever-popular activity at any event.
A great feature of this venue is that each area: the main Rattle Inn lounge, Ray’s backstage, and the rooftop deck has it’s own fully stocked bar and can be closed completely off for private events in any room. The Rattle Inn will work with clients to meet the needs of your party no matter the size, style, or budget. Reserve one room for corporate drinks and a presentation for 30 or book the deck for a wedding (yes, they can do weddings!) of 300. The Rattle Inn could even accommodate as many as 700+ in it’s entirety; just imagine the possibilities of a space with so much versatility!
