The Afterlife :: A Dia de Los Muertos Inspired Beverage
Today marks the traditional Dia de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration in Mexican culture. Traditional customs have a memorial tone and families paying homage to ancestors through offerings, service, and feasts. But, it’s also a day filled with distinctly festive and creative rituals that commemorate the connection between loved ones still here, and the ones passed on but not forgotten. So, in honor of Dia de Los Muertos, take a moment to raise a toast to the ancestors with this bright cocktail as sweet as the afterlife.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Tequila
1/2 oz Frangelico
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Chile Piquin-Cinnamon Syrup
2 dashes Wormwood bitters
*Lemon peel, for garnish
Directions:
Add above ingredients together in a cocktail shaker then strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with the lemon twist.
