Veteran’s Day Martini

Take a moment on Monday to raise a toast in honor of Veteran’s Day in the US and Remembrance Day in the UK. These holidays are an opportunity for each of us to stop and reflect on the legacy of men and women in our armed forces and the sacrifices they, and their loved ones, make each and every day to ensure our current freedoms and liberties continue. To mark the occasion, we’re preparing a cocktail worthy of a 21-gun salute.  Cheers to the Veteran’s all around the world, both past and present. Thank you for all you do!

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Citrus-flavored vodka
  • 1 oz Dekuyper Island Blue Pucker
  • 1 oz Lemon Lime soda
  • Red, White, and Blue sugar crystals
  • Marachino cherry frozen in juice from the jar

Directions:

Dip one-third of the rim of a cocktail glass in each of the colored cocktail sugars to achieve the tri-colored effect on the glass. Place in the freezer to chill. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and then add the citrus vodka and Island Blue Pucker and give it a good shake. Pour into the martini glass until about two-thirds full and then top with the lemon-lime soda and float the cherry ice cube on top. Lift glass in honor of the vets, sip, and enjoy!
