Manage your stress levels with easy Mindfulness

This one is easier said than done when you you work in the events industry. I mean Forbes has reported event coordinator to be in the top 5 most stressful jobs. However, the benefits of mindfulness are widely reported and can make big positive changes to your life and comes highly recommended by all of The Simplifiers team.

How about setting yourself a challenge to use the mindfulness app Headspace for 5-10 minutes a day? The app even tracks your progress.

Get more sleep – or at least better quality sleep

Again, this can be tough when you work in an industry where it’s rare to work 9-5 hours consistently. It’s even harder when you’re running your own business. However, there are hacks you can use to improve your sleeping situation.

For example, I’m sure you’ve heard that you should avoid electronic screens for 30-60 minutes before you go to bed. But, If you can’t give up your electronics, get the FL:UX or Twilight app.

Both apps eliminate the blue light that phones and screens emit. I won’t go into all of the science but that light reduces the amount of melatonin your body produces and affects the human circadian system.

Check out these 7 sleep tips from a Simplifier who used to get an average of 4 hours of sleep!

Learn to delegate so you can lead

If you want to build your business, you can’t do it all alone – even if you are a typical Type A event planner who likes to be in control. Depending on your situation, you might need to find ways to delegate some of your tasks to current staff members or hire someone new.

One resolution for you could be to take on interns in the new year. It does require training but if done right, the pay off for you and your business can be BIG. We’ll be sharing some great advice on delegating and working with interns in the new year. Sign up to our SUPER Insiders mailing list so you don’t miss out!
