Cocktail Friday :: The Gaga Colada

The Gaga Colada

Happy Birthday Lady Gaga! Let’s celebrate with her very own Gaga Colada! To the woman who continues to write history with her music and dress the pages of time with USDA approved meat, here’s to you, Lady Gaga. We all sincerely hope we too one day will be famous enough that a pub across the pond crafts and names a cocktail after us! In the meantime our dearest Lady Gaga, please do understand, whether it is your birthday or just any Friday of the month, every week ought to finish with a Gaga Colada complete with cotton candy and edible glitter! Thank you David Kay in London for doing what we Americans and Lady Gaga lovers wish we had thought up first!

The Gaga Colada

Ingredients:

  • 37.5ml Havana rum
  • 12.5ml blue curaçao
  • 10ml Lime juice
  • 100ml coconut milk
  • 150 pineapple juice
  • A handful of banana candy floss – aka Cotton Candy
  • Pink and silver edible glitter – (Pro Tip: buy it or use food colored granulated sugar)
  • 1 balloon

Directions:

Place the candy floss into a martini glass. Shake the rum, curaçao, coconut milk with the lime and pineapple juice with ice and strain over the candy floss into the glass. Have your balloon filled with the edible glitter as you blow it up and tie it. Using a pin, pop the balloon over the drink, letting the glitter fall down onto the drink. Garnish with some candy floss on the side and enjoy!
