Harvest Pear Martini
The harvest season has begun and, while we often associate apples and pumpkins with this time of year, the pear often gets overlooked as a delectable fall fruit. Today we’re giving this curvy pome some of the love she deserves by dressing her up in a martini glass with something sparkly on top.
- Rimming sugar
- 2 oz vodka
- 3 oz pear puree (make your own: one or two fresh pears pureed with a dash of sugar or simple syrup)
- pear slice for garnish (optional)
Begin by coating the rim of a chilled martini glass with the rimming sugar and set aside. Combine both the vodka and pear puree in a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into prepared martini glass. Top with a dash of champagne and add a wedge of pear. Variation: Try different colored sugars to suit your theme, the season, or simply your mood!
