Indian American Fusion Wedding :: Shalou + Eric
As event planners, we take pride in making sure each and every one of the events we produce is unique and thoughtfully organized, down to the last detail. Our goal when pulling together these one-of-a-kind events is that we bring the client’s vision to life and enhance it by incorporating our own twist.
This Indian American Fusion Wedding, which was featured on the Marigold Events blog recently, was no exception and was a complete joy and privilege to plan.
Shalou + Eric wanted not one, but TWO complete wedding ceremonies, each with it’s own unique feel and many significant details which would honor and celebrate their cultural backgrounds. Although planning and executing just one ceremony can have it’s fair share of challenges, we couldn’t have been happier about how this double ceremony Indian American Fusion Wedding turned out for the lovely couple.
The Hindu ceremony was first and was held at The Four Seasons in Austin. The ceremony wouldn’t have been complete without the groom riding in stoically on a white horse for the baraat, escorted in by the music of both a marching band and a dhol band. Following the ceremony guests were treated to brunch with live sitar and tabla music.
The Western ceremony took place at Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center and a string quartet played both classic and modern hits to set the mood for this portion of the event. After performing a surprise song for his bride, Eric swept Shalou off her feet (literally), and carried her back down the aisle after the big kiss.
The reception brought the Indian American Fusion concept to life by incorporating several personal touches that were unique to the couple. From the menu, to the DJ’s setlist, every element of this celebration was thought out and celebrated the two cultures and families becoming one. The bridal party performed a surprise Bollywood inspired dance routine and the night ended with the couple being chauffeured away in a Rolls Royce, enhanced with Indian floral garlands.
Two venues, 3 costume changes and a 14 hour marathon day of awesomeness make this wedding, truly one for the record books. We were lucky enough to have an all-start team of vendors including:
