This week, there are a lot of events in Nottingham involving tasting different types of alcohol so we’ve included these and added a Chinese tea session, comedy night, film screening, and an Indian dance lesson to balance things out.
Comedy
Mon, 12th June – 7:45pm – Should I stay or should I go? – The Maze
We love the set up for this show but we bet it’s terrifying for the performers! 12 acts compete in comedy’s answer to Britain’s Got Talent and the X-Factor. Each does 2 minutes, then audience judges vote on who to keep on and who to send off!

Beer Tasting
Weds, 14th June – 7pm – Take a journey through craft beer – Purecraft
We’re big fans of this place – the staff are always friendly and great with giving beer recommendations. And we can never resist their food menu!
Purecraft’s tasting sessions include a tour of their “Theatre of Beer”, an introduction to hops, malts, yeast and the variety of beer styles. Oh, and of course most importantly – the opportunity to taste a range of beers. We suggest giving Purecraft a quick call if you’d like more details about what type of beer you’ll be tasting.
Tip: We’ve heard Purecraft is doing a Father’s Day Tasting special so if you’re still looking for a gift, get in touch with them!

Before we talk about this event we have to say – this place was on our radar for a while. We finally got round to ordering a Sunday Roast here the other weekend. The Verdict: Drool-worthy.
Anyway – back to the event. The Bakehouse will be hosting an evening of whisky tasting and discussion focusing on the fantastic Glenfiddich Distillery. The evening will include a history and talk about the distillery as well as plenty of Whisky to drink. They will have the original 12yr, 15yr and 18yr as well as an extra special surprise…

Thurs, 15th June – 7pm – Chinese Tea Meditation – August Moon Tea Studio
We’ve been to quite a few events at the August Moon Tea Studio – most recently a session where we also had treatments from Arbonne and Eve’s Temple. The studio is a calming oasis in the City centre and every time we’ve visited we’ve left feeling 100 X more relaxed than when we arrived!
This session is perfect is you want have a taste of what August Moon offers. A tea session is more relaxing and social than their formal tea ceremonies. Using Chinese tea sets (most of which are handmade or hand painted) your host will show you authentic Chinese tea preparation. She will also share her knowledge about tea and it’s history.
The whole experience is relaxing and friendly and the teas are exclusively sourced from China by August Moon.
