The Simplifiers specialise in planning non-traditional events that stand out from the crowd. No boring copy and paste events allowed! So, it makes sense for us to share non-traditional venues with you and spaces that are more than just a generic room for hire.
We’re kicking off with Nottingham’s National Videogame Arcade in Hockley.
The NVA has rooms with a capacity for 8 – 60 people as plus the option to hire out the galleries and take over the entire building. A takeover includes bars, tournaments and access to 3 floors of interactive exhibits for 150 attendees.
With over 70 games to play, virtual reality, team building ideas and workshops, The NVA is a great option if you want a memorable event that makes an impact. There’s also a cafe if you want inhouse catering as well as the option to hire from a range of local restaurants that the NVA has teamed up with.
On top of this, they have team members like Anne-Marie Parry (Corporate Events Manager) who are passionate about what they do and seem to be very open to new ideas and creativity. Their spaces are versatile and the team work hard to meet the needs of each client and event.

We asked Anne-Marie Parry – Corporate Events Manager at The NVA a few questions…
What are your favourite types of events to host at The NVA?
“I really enjoy team building days, and entire gallery take overs. They’re full of so much energy, and it’s great to get people out of their comfort zones doing something they’ll enjoy. We have a range of workshops and team building games for visitors to enjoy which mean that they get a lot out of their day.”
Which event at The NVA stands out in your memory?
“I hosted a Birthday party for one of our regular customers. He was turning 21 and hired out the galleries for his special day. All his friends and family were there and he even dressed up as Mario! It was one of those events that gives you a BIG smile across your face.”
What makes your venue unique from everywhere else in and around Nottingham?
“We host team building days in MineCraft. You can hire our Virtual Reality which comes with a dedicated crew member. We also provide company tournament days too. Plus we have 3 floors full of games old and new and because our activities are indoors it means we can cater for companies all year round. There’s loads of space and most of our building is wheelchair accessible, so events are inclusive.”
