Tues 10th January – 7pm – How to make $100 million with a bogus bomb detector – The Canalhouse
This talk by the award winning investigative journalist and BBC producer, Meirion Jones sounds fascinating. Find out how a British conman sold bogus bomb detectors to Iraq for $85 million resulting in the lost of 2,000 lives in Baghdad. Jones uses video clips and secret recordings to reveal how this scam was pulled off and how whistle-blowers and a Newsnight team exposed it.
