Skeptics In The Pub
Tues, 6th June – 7:30pm – Ask for Evidence with Sense about Science – The Canalhouse
We’ve been to a few nights organised by Nottingham Skeptics in the Pub and we always enjoy them! This week’s event will be looking at Sense About Science’s Ask for Evidence campaign – “This is geeks, working with the public, to park their tanks on the lawn of those who seek to influence us”.
The campaign has seen people ask a retail chain for the evidence behind it’s MRSA resistant pyjamas, ask a juice bar for the evidence behind wheatgrass detox claims, ask the health department about rules for Viagra prescriptions, and hundred more. As a result, claims are being withdrawn and bodies held to account.

Have a Drink…
Weds, 7th June – Nottingham Gin Club: Nordic Gins – The Pudding Pantry
This is a chance to try 5 different gins including Kongsgaard Raw Gin from Denmark. You’ll get a gin cocktail when you arrive and listen to a short talk about the history of fin and the origins of botanicals.
This is followed by the 5 gins matched with tonics and garnishes and talks on each one. Plus there will be some tapas to compliment the drinks!

Comedy Chaos
Thurs, 8th June – 7:30pm – Gorilla Burger: Improv Comedy Carnage – The Malt Cross
Looking for something different to the usual stand up comedy night? We’ve got the answer – an evening of mayhem and fun with MissImp.
If you’re feeling brave, you can join in and get involved with the games and scenes downstairs at The Malt Cross. But if you want a more relaxed evening, feel free to sit back and watch a night of unplanned, uncensored comedy chaos.

Something Different…
Sun, 11th June – Crystal Quest: A 5D Adventure! – The Nottingham New Theatre
CrystalQuest is an interactive choose-your-own-adventure play with all the showmanship and spectacle of an immersive role playing game experience. The show offers its audience a unique chance to shape their own story, as they journey through a variety of worlds and meet the host of colourful characters who inhabit them.

Fri, 16th June – 8:15pm – The Princess Bride: 30th Anniversary screening – Haywood Road Bowling Green, Mapperley
Ok, we’ll admit, this is a risky one considering the weather but fingers crossed it’ll be warm and dry!
