What’s on in Nottingham? 6 events to try this week

Looking for something different to do in Nottingham? Try one of these! We always try to include a few options and venues that you might not have heard about before…

This week there’s a chance to learn more about big data thanks to Nottingham Skeptics in the Pub, have a proper Persian night, watch an amateur theatre production,  go to a pop up party in a spa, try a ceramic making workshop, or learn how to sew.

Learn Something New

Tues, 4th April – 7:30pm – Big Data: Does Size Matter? – The Canalhouse

Big Data knows where you’ve been and who your friends are. It knows what you like and what makes you angry. It can predict what you’ll buy, where you’ll be the victim of crime and when you’ll have a heart attack. Big Data knows you better than you know yourself, or so it claims.

Timandra Harkness writes comedy, not computer code. If she can understand what’s going on, so can you.
Timandra asks the big questions about where it’s taking us:  She aims to leave you armed and ready to decide what you think about one of the decade’s big ideas: big data
