Tues, 21st March – 7pm – Poetry is Dead Good – Jam Cafe
The monthly spoken word poetry event is all about reclaiming poetry for people who aren’t boring. Judging by the number of people who show up to each event and the reviews we’ve heard – we think it’s well worth a try. Make sure you get there early if you want a seat!

Wed, 22nd – Sat, 25th March – 7:30pm – Carpe Jugulum – Lace Market Theatre
The Lace Market Youth Theatre presents this adaptation of Terry Pratchett’s comic fantasy novel. Expect a pastiche of vampire literature playing with mythic archetypes and featuring a tongue in cheek reversal of ‘vampyre’ subculture with young vampires who wear bright clothes, drink wine and stay up till noon.

Wine Tasting
Fri, 24th March – 7pm – Wine Tasting Evening – Debbie Bryan
If you didn’t manage to book a space this week for the Nottingham Gin Club at Debbie Bryan’s, you might be interested in this wine tasting evening instead. You’ll sample a number of wines with expertise from Loire Valley native Yohann Chaigneau of Petit Vineyard, alongside delicious food.

Fri, 24th March – 8:00pm – Love Sick – Nottingham Playhouse
This award winning show is all about Love. But what on Earth is it?
Two alien ambassadors need to find out quickly and return home with their findings to save their dying planet! With recorded interviews from the inhabitants of Earth these two beautiful fools will build a hilarious scrapbook of advice for those who just don’t know at all.
Love Sick is a hilarious two-hander about the trials of seeking love and what it means once you’ve found it.

Film Screening & Illustrated Talk
Sun, 26th March – 1pm – Metropolis – Broadway
The 2010 restoration of cinema’s first major science-fiction film will be introduced by Professor Mervyn Cooke, from The University of Nottingham, who will present a talk looking at the different responses the film has provoked in composers over the years.
