ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Pep Rally

Just over a year ago, we had the incredibly humbling experience of being a part of an amazing story. The Zdroj family, residents of Bastrop County, were victims of the devastating Central Texas wildfires and lost their home and all of their belongings. Mother Mizzy Zdroj was a volunteer fire fighter for the Heart of Pines Fire Department, and was out fighting these fires when her home was destroyed. ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition heard their story and came to the rescue by coordinating the build of a brand new home in just 7 short days!
To get the community ready for the arrival of ABC's Extreme Home Makeover: Home Edition's cast and crew, The Simplifiers were able to put on a HUGE pep rally at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts in Bastrop, Texas. 1500+ residents of Bastrop County came out to show their support and watch performances from area high school marching bands, cheerleaders and drill teams. The pep rally also gave residents an opportunity to sign up to help build this home and in just one night the number of volunteers jumped from 200 to 2,000!
EFC Custom Homes led the effort to build a beautiful new home for this well deserving family and worked with Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to give the Heart of Pines Volunteer Fire Department's building a makeover too, truly making a lasting community impact.
Tonight, at 8|7 c, ABC is airing this heartfelt story again and we encourage you to tune in and see how the Zdroj family's lives were forever changed by this amazing team effort from EFC Custom Homes, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the residents of Bastrop County.
