B152: How to snap out of a funk (guided visualization)
March 4, 2025

Time for a guided visualization exercise: How to snap out of a funk. If you’re feeling beaten down, worn out, or like your energy vibration is hitting an all-time low, my hope is that today’s episode will help you stop, pause, hit the reset button, gain clarity, and come back to center once again.

How does it work? Simple! Let my voice be a guide for you as you focus inward to help you tap into your inner wisdom and Intuition for answers.

Listen and participate in this guided visualization exercise: How to snap out of a funk.

Before we get started, here are a few things that you’ll need to do in order to get the most out of this.

  1. Create a safe space - no distractions or interruptions

First off, you’ll need to create a safe space where you won’t be distracted or interrupted… and also, keep in mind that during this exercise, you’ll have your eyes closed. So yeah, probably not best to do this one while driving.

Silence your phone notifications… The world can wait for the next few minutes.

Then, get comfortable in a seated position or lying down, if that feels better. You get to decide. As with all visualization and breathing exercises we do together this year, you always get to decide what is best for you… take what you need, bless and release the rest.

Okay, now close your eyes or avert your gaze to the ground.

  1. Take 3 intentional breaths together with me

Let’s take three intentional, life-affirming breaths.

Now, let your breathing come back to a normal pace, whatever feels right for you.

  1. Do a body scan and feel your feet

It’s time to do a body scan… imagine you are slowly scanning your entire body from the tip top of your head, slowly down like molasses, all the way to your fingertips, and then to your toes.

What sensations do you feel? Knots, twinges of pain, soreness, or even , on the flip side, any feelings of harmony, joy, or flow…. just notice what you feel in your body, without judgment or trying to fix it. Just scan down, ever so slowly until you’ve done your entire body.

Once you’re at your feet, really take notice of what it feels like to have your feet make contact with the ground. To be firmly rooted down, the safety and security of that sensation. What do your feet feel like right now?

  1. Time to visualize - how to snap out of a funk

Okay now, keep your eyes closed. I want you to imagine that you’re sitting in front of a very special television. You see, this one is different because you can watch your life from the 3rd person point of view. Change the channel, see a different viewpoint. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves quite yet. Right now, I want you to imagine that you’re simply turning the TV on and making an agreement to be open to what you’re about to see.

Breathe.

You flip the TV on using the remote and quickly realize there are only 3 channels to choose from:

You start with the first channel: your perception.

As you watch, you quickly realize that what’s playing on the screen is the actual scenes from the situation that caused you to be in this funk, in the first place.

It’s all from your point of view, replaying the highlights from conversations or challenges that caused you to get emotionally triggered or caught you off guard in the first place. This is kinda painful to watch, let’s be real… because these scenes have likely been running in your brain (on repeat) for a very long time, huh? Some of it stings, some of it makes you angry, sad, hopeless or maybe frustrated. Some of it makes you want to just numb it all away. Watching it reminds you of why you’ve been feeling stuck or small, lately. And then you realize, that’s because you’re replaying the past… Not one bit of it can you change.

Breathe.

You flip the channel. You’re over it…

Well, you’re over the constant loop of overthinking and mental exhaustion from whatever is putting you in this funk. Now, you just want resolution, so you can raise your vibration and move onwards and upwards.

This channel is their perception.

And quite frankly, it’s dark. You can’t see a thing in this channel because of the static in the screen, the noise, and that frustrates you even further.

If only you could truly understand their point of view, you could have some empathy for the elements where you could have done better, reacted differently. This is the work… the places where you need to own up and then need to commit to doing some self-exploration and do the work to improve yourself.

But the truth is, you’ll never know someone else’s point of view fully… and quite frankly, what someone thinks of you is NONE of your business. You decide to do the work (on only the things that are yours to carry) nonetheless to be a good human and rise above. Release the rest.

Breathe.

You flip to the final channel and see the Truth.

And the Truth is, when your energy vibration is at the highest place, you stress less and you react differently. Calmer, wiser, more steady and connected to your highest self. You are putting your best foot forward and experiencing life differently. Your interactions with others change and the way the world interacts with you… changes.

You don’t let insecurity or anxiety weigh you down, especially not the insecurities or anxiety of others. You give forgiveness where it’s needed (to yourself and others) and you realize that how you react dictates how you perceive your own life, your identity, and your path ahead. This is the truth. This is the way. Where we all shine bright, equally, together.

Breathe.

Take this last moment to say thank you with your full spirit and remember that you can revisit this gift any time you wish. It’s yours forever and ever. You are never alone and you are always fully supported.

Take a moment to gather yourself with a deep, belly-filling breath. And when you’re ready, open your eyes.

--------------

So, how did it feel to explore those 3 channels to help give you clarity on your current challenging situation, causing this funk? What came up for you?

I want you to set a 7-minute timer, grab a pen and paper, and take this time to write down everything you remember from this visualization exercise.

One final whisper

“Failure is not defeat until you stop trying.”

Keep going.

Keep observing and listening.

You’re here for a reason… to learn, to share, to grow, and to forgive.

Remember to control what you can and release the rest. Persistence is a muscle that you’re training every single day when you pause, listen, grow… and then take positive action.

I hope this visualization sticks with you the entire week through. Do it again and again if you need clarity or fresh ideas to help your spirit feel refreshed once again… because when you tap into your deep inner knowing, you’re accessing the deep inner wisdom. That electric energy that can be found inside all of us that connects us all together. It knows. You know. We all know if we are brave and we open ourselves to it.

You can do this, I believe in you.
