Shoal Crossing Event Center
Need a spot to host your next event? You should definitely check out one of Austin’s newest venues, Sterling Hospitality’s beautiful and conveniently located - Shoal Crossing Event Center!
After helping develop several central Texas event centers, owner Larry Kille of Sterling Hospitality has opened Shoal Crossing Events Center in northwest Austin. Recently awarded the ‘Architecturally Stunning’ Award from Austin Wedding Day, the center offers multiple event capabilities for weddings, receptions and other special events. The newly redesigned 8000 square foot venue, opened this past February. With an interior both modern and classic in design, it can accommodate from 50 to 800 reception guests. Shoal Crossing Event Center's ample parking (150 spaces) and easy access to downtown Austin provide exceptional convenience.Rental of the site is for the entire Shoal Crossing Event Center which encompasses five connected event spaces, including the Grand Ballroom which can seat up to 350 or accommodate up to 500 for cocktails. The open-design venue, divisible by black theater curtains, also offers a South Ballroom, Breezeway, North Wing, West Wing and an outdoor courtyard for cocktails. The Grand Ballroom includes use of their “Juliet balcony” above an optional 16x12 foot stage and a LED lighting system. For an extra fee, an in-house music system and projector are also available at Shoal Crossing Event Center.
Sterling Hospitality offers catering and bar services, including an open or cash bar, with extensive menu pricing options. Rental rates for weekdays are $10 per person with a 50 person minimum. Morning venue use from Friday to Sunday is $15 per person and Saturday evenings are $20 per person. Any weekend event requires a minimum of 100 people, while the use of outside caterers increases any rental rate $5 per guest. The northwest Austin site was originally a beloved 1960’s steakhouse known as The Barn, back when its location was considerably more “country” than “town.” An interesting architectural souvenir from those early days is the Rotunda, a room originally designed as a silo. Still boasting its soaring 40 foot ceiling, Shoal Crossing Event Center now offers a trio of modern blown glass chandeliers suspended over a grand concert piano.
The chandeliers are among many decorative features that adorn the venue. There are several modern abstract chrome statues, white leather lounge furniture, glass-top buffet tables and numerous crystal chandeliers. Guests are also offered the use of their 400 off-white leather arm-less chairs, 60” round dining tables, tall cocktail tables and a permanent enclosed bar. Two pairs of restrooms at either end of the center of the venue and two dressing rooms provide additional convenience.
Sterling Hospitality continues to develop their beautiful events center. Future work will include the construction of an additional privacy wall and enclosed courtyard on the western elevation, complete with a sun shade sail patio cover.Want to plan your event at Shoal Crossing Events Center?
